I just noticed an online article that favors the use of baby oil as protection against mosquitos, and I am sure black flies and noseeums as well. The article also expressed caution against using chemical formulas that use Deet.
The child's mother wanted to find an all natural product insect repellent that would protect her two year old child from biting insects without using chemicals.
The advocate for Deet stated:
Dr. Kober said there's no proof that these products keep mosquitoes away.
"I usually go with where the science leads. I typically recommend Deet or picaridin. These are two time-tested insect repellents that do work to deter mosquitoes from biting you," said Dr. Kober
Science has proven that certain fragrances or formulas interferes with a biting insect's ability to detect your carbon dioxide flume!
The Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope challenge is: 1) It is not a chemical insect repellent, 2) You do not need to put it on your skin to be effective, and 3) Is 130 years of protecting people who love the outdoors a long enough test of time?
Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope interacts with a biting insect's receptors that locates your carbon dioxide flume when you exhale. If they cannot "see" you, they cannot bite you!" With Ole Time Woodsman Fly Dope you are just part of the scenery, not a neon sign that says, "Free hot buffet of blood if you can find a place that is not covered with 'miracle' oil or Deet!"

Just took this camping this weekend, put some on a bandana just like when I was a kid. Not a bite! Thank you! |
